Music Theatre Wichita

As an A2 for MTW I worked closely with the actors and sound designer during tech and performances. I assisted with loading in and out of the theatre which included setting up the speaker system and board, mic paperwork, troubleshooting mics and speakers, and helping design certain cues for the shows. This was a very hands-on and quick-thinking job that allowed me to work with people of all backgrounds.

Above are pictures from the process of the shows as well as paperwork I made throughout the season.

Newsies is an inspiring musical based on the true events of the 1899 Newsboys’ Strike in New York City. It follows Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy who dreams of a better life beyond the streets. When powerful newspaper publishers raise distribution prices at the expense of the newsboys, Jack and his fellow “newsies” rally together to fight for fair treatment. With courage, friendship, and the support of reporter Katherine Plumber, the newsies take a stand against injustice and discover the strength of solidarity. Filled with high-energy dance numbers and stirring anthems, Newsies is a rousing tale of resilience and fighting for what’s right.
